Prime Minister Modi Commemorates National Technology Day and India's Nuclear Achievements

Celebrating National Technology Day

On National Technology Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflected on the significant nuclear tests conducted in Pokhran in 1998, emphasizing India's emergence as a global leader in various technological fields.

National Technology Day serves as a reminder of the pivotal events of May 11, 1998, when India successfully carried out nuclear tests under Operation Shakti and witnessed the inaugural flight of the indigenous Hansa-3 aircraft.

In recognition of these milestones, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee declared May 11 as National Technology Day.

In a post on social media, Modi expressed, "Wishing everyone a Happy National Technology Day. This day is dedicated to honoring our scientists and remembering the 1998 Pokhran tests, which marked a historic moment in our nation's development, particularly in our pursuit of self-reliance."

He further stated, "With the support of our people, India is emerging as a global leader in various technological domains, including space, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, green technology, and much more."

Modi reaffirmed his commitment to empowering future generations through science and research, stating, "Technology should uplift humanity, secure our nation, and accelerate future growth."
